Divorce is an option for couples who have been separated for 12 months or more and feel the marriage has broken down irretrievably.  Divorce dissolves a marriage.

Obtaining a divorce involves a separate application to the Federal Magistrates Court with which we can assist you with. 

It is important to remember that divorce is a separate legal process from resolving property settlement issues.  Divorce does not finalise or sever your financial ties with your former spouse and important time limits do apply to the resolution of property settlements if not completed within twelve months of a divorce order being granted.
