Professional background

 

Jay specialises in criminal litigation, traffic offences and quasi-criminal matters. He completed his studies in Law and Commerce at Bond University where he majored in finance and accounting.

 

Since beginning his degree, Jay has developed a strong interest in litigation and the role of the Justice System in Australia. This led him to begin his career in criminal law beginning at Ryan & Bosscher Criminal Lawyers in 2008 and later under the supervision of Hamish Carlyle from 2009.

 

Since being admitted in 2010, Jay has relentlessly defended clients with a refined courtroom presence and eye for detail. 

 

Jay has represented clients in several different areas of criminal law and has also provided expertise in applications for bail, parole and probation, Work Licenses and Special Hardship Orders. Jay was promoted to an Associate of the firm in July 2010 acknowledging his dedication to client needs and hard work.

 

Continuing his passionate and ambitious commitment to providing a high quality of legal representation, Jay provides a broad range of skills to Rostron Carlyle’s criminal law team.
